Your Second Life avatar and your Primal District character are one and the same. This guide walks you through linking them and activating your HUD.

How It Works

The Primal District HUD is a wearable Second Life object that communicates directly with this website via a secure REST API. When you perform an in-world action — feeding, attending a ritual, gaining XP from combat — the HUD sends that data here instantly. Your character profile on this site updates in real time.

Likewise, changes you make on this website — updating your biography, spending banked Vital Spirit, adjusting your faction alignment — are pushed back to your HUD automatically on next login.

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1 — Create Your Account

Register on this website using your preferred username. You do not need to use your Second Life display name, but many players do for consistency. Your account holds your character sheet, stats, bloodline, and inventory.

Step 2 — Enter the District In-World

Teleport to The Primal District sim in Second Life. Head to the Welcome Hub in The Commons. A District member or staff greeter will induct you into a bloodline and hand you your Primal District HUD object.

Step 3 — Wear and Activate the HUD

Attach the HUD to your screen. On first activation it will prompt you to enter your website username and API token. Your API token is found in your Account page here. Enter both and click Register — your avatar is now linked.

Step 4 — Play

Your HUD now syncs all activity. Attend rituals, feed or be fed, complete quests, earn XP. Everything flows automatically to your character profile on this website. Check your stats, bloodline tree, and inventory here anytime.

HUD Features

Vital Spirit Bar

Your life force. Depletes through combat, blood debt, and cursed interactions. Restored by feeding, rituals, and healing items from your inventory.

Arcane Surge Meter

Magical energy expended to cast spells, enhance abilities, and perform ritual actions. Replenishes passively over time or rapidly at Ritual Circles.

XP and Level Tracker

Earn XP through quests, rituals, feeding, RP milestones, and combat. Level up to unlock new bloodline abilities, access restricted zones, and gain titles.

Inventory Sync

Items received in-world appear on your character profile instantly. Bank your crystals here. View item details, rarity, and effects on the full inventory page.

Troubleshooting

If your HUD is not syncing, try the following steps before contacting support:

  • Detach and reattach the HUD, then click the Reconnect button.
  • Verify your API token matches the one shown on your Account page — tokens expire after 30 days of inactivity.
  • Ensure you are wearing the HUD on the correct attachment point (HUD Center 2).
  • Check that your Second Life viewer’s HTTP requests are not blocked by a firewall or security orb.
  • If all else fails, contact a District staff member in-world or via Discord for a token reset.
