Every character belongs to a bloodline. Every bloodline is a living family tree — with elders, scions, and blood debts that carry real narrative weight across generations.
What Is a Bloodline?
A bloodline is a lineage of characters bound together through ritual feeding, blood oaths, or ancestral ties. When an elder feeds a new initiate for the first time and marks the bond in the HUD, a permanent link is created in the District’s database. That link is visible on this site as a branching family tree.
Bloodlines confer passive stat bonuses, unlock bloodline-specific spells and rituals, and grant access to your lineage’s private gathering spaces in-world. The deeper your generational connection to your bloodline founder, the more powerful the resonance bonuses you receive.
The Major Bloodlines
House Cinder
Faction: Ember Covenant
The oldest Ember bloodline. House Cinder traces its origin to the first fire ritual performed in the District’s founding year. Known for extreme resilience to pain and a +15 passive Arcane Surge regeneration bonus. Members bear the Ashmark — a branching scar pattern on the left arm.
Bonus: +15 Arcane Regen | Unlock: Flamebrand Rite at Level 5
House Vael
Faction: Abyssal Court
Diplomats and blood brokers. House Vael controls more blood debt contracts than any other lineage in the District. Their feeding rites are formal ceremonies with witnesses. Members receive doubled Vital Spirit from consensual feeding exchanges.
Bonus: x2 Vital Spirit from feeding | Unlock: Blood Contract at Level 4
House Thornmere
Faction: Verdant Circle
Guardians of the Wilds and keepers of familiars. House Thornmere is the largest bloodline by raw member count, known for welcoming newcomers with warmth. Familiars bonded within this house gain +20% to all stats.
Bonus: Familiar +20% all stats | Unlock: Nature Pact at Level 3
The Unbound
Faction: Hollow Throne
Characters who have taken no bloodline oath. The Unbound are courted by all factions and receive no passive bonuses — but they are the only characters who can broker cross-faction blood oaths and act as neutral arbiters in disputes.
