HOW THE DISTRICT IS PROTECTED
Staff & Moderation
Staff do not exist to rule the District. Staff exist to protect its atmosphere u2014 to protect consent, maintain boundaries, reduce disruption, and help conflicts de-escalate. Staff authority is functional. It is never personal. A title creates responsibility, not importance.
Five Staff Values
Consent Before Convenience
A busy event never outweighs a member’s right to disengage. No one is above the rules.
De-escalation Before Spectacle
Resolve privately where possible. The goal is resolution, not humiliation.
Facts Before Assumptions
Distinguish what was observed, reported, inferred, and unknown. Rumors are not evidence.
Boundaries Apply to Staff Too
Staff may never use their role to obtain attention, access, or immunity from consequences.
Least Disruptive Effective Response
Not every issue needs removal. Use the smallest intervention that actually stops the problem.
